The apartment is located near the front of the La Cinuelica complex which is a few minutes walk from the town of Punta Prima, which is on the N332, the main road which runs from Alicante in the north, to Cartagena in the south. The map below is interactive so just click on it with your mouse to navigate around. The closest town, Torrevieja is just a 10 minute drive along this road, or there are plenty of local buses. Torrevieja is a typically lively Spanish sea side town with lovely beaches, a large marina / port, many cafes, bars, restaurants and famous street markets. It is famous for its salt lakes, which are supposed to make the area one of the healthiest around. The lakes also have Flamingos and other wildlife. There is a small Island off the coast called Tabarca, which has good snorkeling and beaches and makes a nice day out. (be aware that prices are expensive on the island, so if that is a concern take plenty of food and drink with you). A ferry to Tabarca Island is available from the port in Torrevieja, it is a glass bottom submarine boat, takes about 75 minutes, costs about 22 Euro's. Description of local area and activities
There are five large supermarkets, numerous banks, shops and many friendly bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The Local beaches are within a 15-20 minute walk or other beaches just a short drive from the apartment. The nearest beaches are Nautilus beach, Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca and La Zenia.
Just 20 minutes drive to the south is the Mar Menor, which is a fabulous inland sea, very shallow and lovely and warm. Great for children and water sports.
The apartment is also ideally situated for golfers, being only a 15 minute drive from the championship courses of Villamartin, Las Ramblas and Campoamor. The world famous La Manga Golf club is only 40 minutes drive away.
On the community complex we have two private pools for the use of residents and lovely communal gardens to relax and walk around, plus just down the road (about 10 min walk) there is a bar/shopping complex that has many restaurants and bars with lively entertainment every night.
There is also an Aqua-park near Torrevieja and a Go Carting track within walking distance.
